Custom Movable Partitions: What Does 'Custom' Really Mean Before Signing a Contract?
Ordinary panels are hard to fit in real hotels and conference halls. The openings vary in width, ceiling load capacity differs, and stacking grooves might be redesigned during renovation. Fire safety requirements usually come in later. If your supplier only sells the fixed modules shown in warehouse photos, someone on-site will come up with a temporary fix—and you'll be stuck with that temporary solution long-term.
A practical range of customization looks like this:
- On-site survey and layout to determine where panels go. Thickness and acoustic choices should be based on room function, not just pushing a single SKU.
- Options for size, shape, and surface finishes—including when the architect has already designed unusual geometric shapes.
- Pre-specifying passage doors, seals, silent tracks, and safety locks.
- Manual, semi-automatic, or fully automatic choice should depend on actual usage frequency.
- Quality control during production and a dedicated contact after handover.
If your quote skips half of this list, you’re not buying a system—you’re just buying panels and hoping for the best.
Check Separately Between Factory and Desk Dealings
Ask for case studies from ballrooms, dance studio, restaurants, offices, or factory offices, and make sure they’re detailed enough to look real—not just photos. Ask how they handle track loads and stacking drawings. What happens if the seals fail after eighteen months? Export orders require strict packaging standards and someone who can answer questions across time zones; just having elegant English on a website doesn’t guarantee that.
Where Kocen sits in that picture
Kocen Partition started in 2008 in Guangzhou and focuses on movable partition walls and glass partition systems—development, sales, production, after-sales. Typical applications: star hotels, meeting rooms, restaurants, banquet halls, convention and exhibition venues. We have years of OEM/ODM work, a range of series experience, and shipments to many overseas markets. There is a real showroom if you want to push a panel yourself before you commit.
We will not pretend every inquiry needs the thickest automatic wall. Some projects need a straightforward 85 mm manual system and a clean install plan. That is still custom when the opening, finish, and pocket are yours.
Starting a job with us
Send drawings or even rough opening sizes. Note acoustic, finish, and automation preferences. We recommend a series and quote. Then finishes or samples get locked, and production dates follow. Interior contractors, hotel owners, and overseas distributors all come through that same path—only the paperwork changes.
If you already have a failed partition on site and need a replacement that staff will actually use, say so up front. Those briefs are different from a new-build package, and they deserve a different drawing set.
Got drawings or just ceiling height and opening width? Send them over. We will come back with a workable series recommendation and quote. WhatsApp / Tel: +86 13925123099 · www.kocenpartition.com
