Most inquiries start the same way: can one hall run two events on the same day without calling in extra manpower?
That is usually why people look at an automatic partition. The wall still divides the room. The difference is the motor, the remote, and how little staff time it takes to open or close it between bookings.
Automatic folding partitions in hotel and multi-function venues.
An automatic partition hangs from a ceiling track and moves with electric drive. You press a button or use a remote; the panels slide or fold into place. Staff do not have to shove a full run of heavy panels by hand every time the schedule changes.
At KOCEN, that covers automatic folding partition walls for hotels and banquet halls, plus electric folding doors for offices and meeting rooms. Same idea, different finishes and room types.
We get this question a lot. You do not always need the highest automation level. On our side, the split is fairly simple:
| Type | Common use | What changes on site |
|---|---|---|
| Semi-automatic | Large banquet halls | Electric lock helps when panels are long and heavy |
| Fully automatic | Luxury hotels, conference centers | Wall panel or remote opens and closes the run |
If the same hall flips from a wedding lunch to a dinner meeting the same day, fully automatic usually saves more time. If the wall only moves a few times a week, semi-automatic can be enough.
A motor alone does not make a good partition. From our published system notes, these are the items buyers usually ask us to prove in the showroom:
Drive. We use a 24V low-voltage system. The silent motors are rated for more than 100,000 operations.
Control. Wall panel, mobile APP, or RS485 link to building control. Some projects want one button for “banquet mode,” another for “meeting mode.”
Sealing. When the wall closes, top and bottom retractable strips compress automatically. Before stacking, they retract again. No separate handle routine for every panel.
Safety. Bottom infrared sensors stop the run if something is in the way. If power fails, an emergency manual clutch still lets you slide the panels by hand.
Hotels also ask about timed zoning—set the wall to open or close on a schedule around banquet turns. Details are in our core technology page.
Hotels, banquet halls, multi-function rooms, training rooms, offices, convention halls. The brief is almost always the same: keep one big room, but split it when needed.
Automation helps with labor. Series selection is still about ceiling height and how quiet the next room needs to be. From our product pages:
| Series | Max custom height | Often used for |
|---|---|---|
| Type 65 | Up to 4.5 m | Smaller rooms |
| Type 85 | Up to 8 m | Hotel banquet / mid halls |
| Type 100 | Over 9 m | Higher ceilings |
Related pages list sound options at 35 dB, 40 dB, 45 dB, and 50 dB. If you are still comparing series, 65 vs 85 vs 100 and our note on hotel banquet hall movable walls are useful.
Tracks are top-hung, so there is no floor groove for carts or cleaning staff to fight with. Frames and tracks use 6063-T6 aluminum. Panel edges carry rubber sealing for privacy between rooms. Finish is open: MDF, melamine, fabric, leather, HPL, plus OEM/ODM size and color work when the interior package is already fixed.
Custom motorized systems used in office and commercial fit-outs.
Photos help, but most overseas buyers still want to push the wall themselves. Two recent visits show what that looks like in practice.
Kocen Partition has been in Panyu, Guangzhou since 2008. We make movable partitions and glass systems in-house, keep samples in the showroom, and handle OEM/ODM when a project needs a special size or finish. Product pages also mention free installation guidance, AutoCAD support, and after-sales follow-up.
If you are comparing options from abroad, the shortest path is still a site visit: run the wall, listen to the seal, then talk drawings.
Send the basics, we will match a system
Ceiling height, clear opening width, target sound level, and whether you want wall control or remote. That is enough for a first recommendation.

Automatic vs manual—what’s the real difference?
Both are operable walls. Automatic adds electric drive and button or remote control, so tall or frequently moved runs take less manpower.
What if the power goes out?
There is an emergency manual clutch. You can still slide the panels by hand.
Do you need a floor track?
Our standard movable partitions are top-hung. No floor groove.
How do people control the wall?
Wall panel, remote, mobile APP, or RS485 building control, depending on the package. Some motorized glass systems also link to a wall switch or smart-home setup.
Can you customize for an overseas project?
Yes—size, color, surface. OEM/ODM is available, and overseas partners are welcome at the Guangzhou factory and showroom.
Lead time?
Production is usually about 7–20 days by quantity. Delivery often falls around 7–40 days by destination.
